Favorite UTH?

Seeing as I am obsessed with getting another snake, I'm just going to slowly start buying the stuff I need for my new set up. What is everyone's favorite UTH? Or does it matter. I have the Exo Terra Desert one, but I was just wondering if there's a better one that I can get for this one? Whats the difference between the desert version and the Rainforest version?

Also, since I have a 20 gal long aquarium, am I assuming correctly that I should get the 30 gallon sized UTH, which is 8 x 12? Since a 20 gal long is longer than a regular 20 gallon.?

One more. If I use a tile to put it on, instead of adhering it straight to my tank, do I attach the sticky side to the tile then put it under my tank? Or does it now go Inside the tank with the heat mat on the bottom? Confused. Thanks.

The desert gets hotter. The rainforest might not get warm enough. ExoTerra UTHs are very difficult to remove. They have bigger rubber feet than ZooMed. ZooMed are easier to remove. I have had equal failure rates (off) with both brands.

Here is my 15 gallon tank...

I use a 8x6 UTH and two 8x8 slate tiles. You can see one of them sort of under the small light colored hide and cypress mulch.

I layer things like this...Shelf, slate tile, UTH (Not stuck to the glass), Tank/glass, and then another slate tile. I also use a plug in lamp dimmer connected to the UTH. Holds the temp perfectly as long as we keep the house at the same temp! :)

I'd put it UNDER the tank. And the eBay listing looks like it ought to work!

I don't pay attention to what size tank the UTH says it is for. I get one that covers about 1/3 of the bottom of the tank. I usually get the rainforest Exoterra and I haven't had any problems with them not getting warm enough. I also have a Zoomed and it works fine too, but Zoomed is more expensive, at least in my area. I cover the sticky stuff with tinfoil and then use aluminum foil tape to attach it and then I can move it around at will.
