Feeder Fish For Corns!?

I read somewhere the other night that
some people occasionally feed their corns
fish??? The article I read involved the small fish and
the corn to be placed in the bathtub with JUST enough
water as to not cover the corns head, and letting the
corn chase the wish around until he gets it.

I know that the snake probably doesn't benefit from the
fish much and it wouldn't exactly make for the best MEAL,
and obviously should never replace a meal,
but would this be acceptable on occasion just for fun/exercise?
Or is it dangerous for any reason?

My corn eats well, I know better than to mess with success,
however this idea just sounded so exciting!

Please let me know!

Also, if anyone has heard of this, what about BP's?

I think the person from the other night was talking about a different type of snake. Corns don't usually eat fish.

I don't know about BP's . . .

There are a couple of problems with feeding fish to corns:

1) most fish carry parasites which can infest the snakes
2) most easily available feeder fish contain thiaminase which will cause a thiamin deficiency in snakes that leads to neurological damage.

Add that to the knowledge that whole mice are the perfect food for corns and can be easily obtained, stored, and fed, and there's no good reason to even try to feed fish to corns.

Umm corns are typically rodent eatters.. Fish for them.. I would not bother to try, and the same goes for BP's..

Garter snakes sure.. They eat fish...

Sounds like a lot of mis information to me...

I would not feed fish to any snake besides Garters and Water snakes.

This is Twister my Northern Water Snake. She is very handable as well.

Rodents only when it comes to corns. If you like to feed a varied diet, to include fish, I'd recommend a garter snake. I have several garters. They'll eat just about anything, but I have mine on a rodent diet only. They grow faster on rodents. There's no chance of thiamin deficiency, and less frequent and messy poop. Below is a pic of my Florida blue stripe garter (similis) First pic is when I first received her. Second and third pics are about two months later. You can see how much of a change in growth and color she had. She was eating pinky parts for me by her second feeding. Now she's on whole pinks.
