Feeding 2 pinkies

My baby corn is about 10-11 grams and after she downs one pinkie she is looking for another. Today she was trying to eat the paper towel where the mouse was. My question is does anyone think it would be bad to bump her up to two pinkies even tho she isn't at the weight according to the Munson plan?
 
Mine has done the same thing-- keep looking after downing a pinkie. I believe that's normal. In the wild they would eat more if it were there; but they are not in the wild and have a steady food supply every x days.

I would be patient and wait for her to gain more weight before upping the food. She's still little.
 
Ya she acts like she is starved, first she wouldn't eat, now she takes it soon as I offer it, then acts like "what that's it" haha

I hear ya! Mine has decidedly looked for more after scarfing down a pinkie meal.

Dolly has been more quiet than the previous few weeks during this feeding period. I'm not sure if it is because it was a little larger than usual pinkie, the weather turned a little cooler and so the cool side of the viv is cooler, or if this is a pre-blue slow down. Or maybe some other reason I can't guess? I'm definitely going to do a blue check before thawing that pinkie tonight.
 
Weighed her today because it's feeding day, I got her on the 26th of last month. So I have had her a month. I use the munson scale for feeding. When I got her she weighed 11 grams, after a month of feeding she still weighs 11 grams.

1 pink on 03-30 11 grams
1 pink on 04-12 10 grams
1 pink on 04-18 11 grams
1 pink on 04-22 11 grams
1 pink on 04-26 11 grams

She did go 12 days without feeding at the start of April, but has eaten like a starved pig since.
 
Mine stayed at 13 grams for 3 feedings and 14 grams for 3 feedings. I didn't weigh the first month but fed on a deli lid in viv until I got the handling thing down. I find out tomorrow night whether he's at 14 or 15 grams. They can convert up to 1/3 of the meal to weight. So if your pinkies are 2 grams, as many are, do the math. And that's "up to". Doesn't mean it will be that much. It takes time to grow on pinkies.
 
She has grown longer just in the month I've had her. Just not heavier. Converting a third to weight would be .66 grams each feeding, so a total of 3.3 grams haha. If she hadn't grown longer I wouldn't worry, but she grew longer but not heavier lol
 
Funny, but mine is longer with little additional weight, too. So it seems the energy is going to length before weight. Makes sense in a way.

Saying they can convert up to a third to weight doesn't mean they do. All it gives is the upper limit.

As long as your snake is eating and has that loaf of bread crossection, I wouldn't worry.

This reminds me of the weight game mothers play with their babies. They all grow in their own times. What you need to be concerned with is malnutrition, dehydration, or disease including parasites, not weight gain. Weight is is only one measure of health.
 
It looks like you went 12 days between feelings, and then a week, and then moved it up to every 4 days. Feeding the right size at the right interval will let the snake grow quickly and safely. Keep on this schedule and you'll be fine.
 
I try and feed every four days, that twelve day stretch was post shed. I'm not overly worried but more of curious what everyone else has encountered. She still looks healthy and has a ton of energy when she is out. Maybe this is telling me she isn't going to be a long snake but average build instead of being a thicker build.
 
Sometimes they time their sheds terribly! They're always a little slow until they are the right size for 2 pinkies, then you will wonder where your little worm went. ;)
 
We have just went through very similar story with Theo!!!!! Was concerned he was behind in feeding schedule but he did have regurge few months back which slowed us down anyway I waited till correct weight achieved plus more before moving up to 2 pinkies and he managed brilliantly after 2nd pinkie he wAs staring at me as if to say is that it!!!!!!! Up to 30g very rapidly since upping meal x
 
I went through a similar one with my 7 month old.
I got him at 1.5 monts and for the first 3 months he only went from 9gr to 12. It was a long time with pinkies, a short one with two pinkies and now he's on fuzzies. Since that last 12gr he has grown about 4-5gr and 3-4cm per month.
I have fed only 1 fuzzy (today the second), but I expect a quicker growth from now on.
 
Thanks for sharing that 😁 I'm a bit nervous to move up to fuzzy so maybe another few servings of double pinkie for us to be n safe side x
 
I've had my little guy for about a month. He was 24g on 2 pinkies when I got him. He's only at 26g now. I'm considering moving from 7 days to 6 days between feedings.
 
Nightmare is the same size, and I just started feeding him a pinkie and a half. We only feed once a week, though. He seems to love it. I give him the whole one first, and once he has it down in his belly, I give him the half. He doesn't hesitate for even a second. He just goes for it! He hasn't had any problems with regurging or anything. This is our first snake, so I am no expert. Just thought I would share since it has worked well for us.
