Feeding Answer Please!

We are in the middle of a regurge protocol with our 3 month old cornsnake. We fed him for the first time in 12 days last Sunday a half pinkie and everything went fine. We went to go feed him another half pinkie tonight and apparently a very small part of the pinkie broke off and is stuck to the side of his head. Should we attempt to remove it or just leave it there? If we do try and remove it , what is the best method?

Thank you for any and all suggestions!

stuck how? if it was just a little wet it should fall off as he crawls in his terrarium. hopefully you find it before it goes gross. i'd recommend leaving him be and not handling now.

The pinkie had been soaked in hot water before we fed the snake so I assume that's how it was stuck. But we just checked on him in his feeding bin and I think he must have worked it into his mouth. I didn't see it in the feeding bin anywhere.

Thank you for the help.

In the future, it's okay to just pick it off his head, or run him under room temp running water to wash him off. He will NOT like that, so have a good hold of him. I generally rinse snakes that get sticky with Nutribac or pinky guts, anyway. After a couple times they don't care any more.

I thought about doing that but wasn't sure since we are in the middle of the regurge protocol and didn't want to stress the snake out. But you are saying it would be OK?
