No need to abandon hope- It took me awhile to get my BP to eat f/t after he had been fed live his entire life.
He's very picky about his rats and actually, instead of wiggling the rat, I have to feed him in his tub, (used to try in a seperate container but he never got used to it and never ate in it...). He always seems like he is scared of the rat when I wiggled it in front of him or stroked his body with it.
Anyway, for him, I have to get the rat really hot, quietly open the lid, gently place the rat (on a plastic lid) on the opposite side of the tub that he's in, gently put the tub lid back on, turn off the lights to the entire area, and not walk anywhere near that area for at least an hour. (lol- my boyfriend jokes that I feed the snake better than I feed him!!!

)
I had tried a ton of other things before and was getting more and more stressed out about him not eating (especially because he's my first and only BP) but I finally figured it out for him. Every snake is different, you can try wiggling it in front of him, or try it the way I feed mine, it's just a matter of finding the routine that your baby likes.
Just keep trying, if you get really, really worried, and your BP is beginning to lose weight, then try feeding him live to buy yourself more time but don't give up on the f/t either...
good luck!
