Feeding Lizards.

Taxidermy

everything under the sun.
A friend of mine that has been watching my smallest snake, punk, has not made the trips needed to purchase mice. instead he has told me he has been catching and freezing lizards for my snake to eat. Wild caught, frozen lizards. Is that safe? When frozen does it kill the parasites and what ever are in the lizards?

This is definitely not the ideal way to feed the little guy. Hatchling corns do eat lizards in the wild. So, if it is just a temporary way to feed him for a short while, it is better than nothing at all. But, I would also suggest getting some live or frozen pinkies asap.

Might be better off feeding nothing at all. Lizards are their natural prey and your snake may not want to take mice after being fed a lot of lizards.

Plus, freezing may kill parasites but only if it is frozen very cold for quite a few days. Freezing does not kill bacteria or pesticides or other toxins that may harm your snake.
