Feeding problem

I cant figure out how many pinkies to feed my 5 month old corn. He is about 14 inches long and I went to the petstore today to look at the pinkies they had there and none of them seem big enough for my little guy. Should I just feed him two small pinkies? Or should I just go with one? I dont really know what to do at this point. Pictures would be nice as to what size pinky would be sufficiant to feeding him. This will be his first meal with me. By the way all of the pinkies they have are live. I was also told to go with f/t so I'm lost. Any help would really be appreciated.

By the way just to add to that. These pinkies are $1.29 a peice which seems like a rip off cause there so small. Is that a normal price or no?

There is a feeding plan on this site somewhere that you can follow, my snake is 18 weeks old 17 inches long (not sure what he weighs yet but will be getting scales tomorrow) He eats 2 pinkies ,this week he ate a small fuzzy instead, which seemed ok. It all depends on the weight of your snake as to the food. I personally would not feed live food to my snake unless he really wouldnt eat a defrosted frozen meal as feel he may develope a taste for the live sort in the future.

Im doing the best I can looking for some f/t mice in town. If I cant find one then I will have to resort to live. He has to eat tonight!!!!

Wasnt judging you ,if needs must then that all you can do .Im sure some people on this site feed live food (i dont as when snake is older risk of prey hurting snake or snake only accepting live!) I was told when i first got my baby to give one pinkie then if he still hunting around give anther! Quite new to it all as well but doing ok so far good luck honey!

if you dont want to feed live.... just buy the live ones and freeze them? But being this small I would just give it live for tonight and then that will give you time to decide what you want to do and give you time to look around for frozen :) I have fed live before to little ones... never had a problem getting them to eat f/t after that :) Good luck with your feeding tonight :)

When they're on single pinks (2-3g), I feed every 4-5 days. (Snake = 4-15g)
-Double pinks (3g x 2) every 4-5 days. (Snake = 16-23g)
-Small fuzzies (5-7g) every 5-6 days. (Snake = 24-30g)
-Regular fuzzies (7-9g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 30-50g)
-Hoppers (9-12g) every 5-6 days (Snake = 51-90g)
-Weaned (14-20g) every 7 days (Snake = 91-170g)
-Adult (24-30g) every 7-x days (Snake = 170+)
-Jumbo Adults (40-50g) every 7-x days (Snake = 400g+)

Note: Adult females are fed more frequently than adult males (especially following brumation). Females are fed every 6-8 days; males are fed every 7-14 days.

This is by no means scientific, and not all corns will cooperate 100% with the schedule. The weight ranges I gave for the prey and snakes are approximate. I'm very consistent in my feedings. Some people feed every Saturday, for example. If they get a refusal, the snake has to wait for the next Saturday to get another shot. I don't do this. If a snake refuses today, he'll get another shot in two days.

This is the plan i am going to follow, Hope it helps
