Feeding question

Actually, the mice work best when they are pale and rubbery. I have no idea why, but it was recommended to try on non-feeders, I did it and found just dipping the pinkies in the boiling water quickly doesn't do the trick. Leave them to cook a little and the hatchlings went wild for them.
Easy to do and it saved at least 20 of my hatchlings this year from becoming cobra food.

I do the same thing and have gotten several non-feeders and some very picky eaters to eat. Usually, after eating a few like this, they will go on to reguler thawed pinkies.

Update

Well, no dice. I tried offering a heated up f/t pink first like I normally would. Left it in the tub with her for an hour and when I checked on her she was busy trying to figure out how to get out of the tub. The pink was untouched. I took it back out and put it in just boiled water for about 30 seconds and tried again. Another hour passed before I checked on her again and she still hadn't touched it. I put it in the her tank with her to sit overnight. Hopefully she'll decide it looks appetizing once back in more comfortable surroundings. I do think maybe she's going to shed soon. Her colors looked very dull to me. I haven't had her long and haven't had the chance to really look at her much, but I just don't think she looked that dull when I first got her a week ago.

After leaving it pink in the boiling water, well boiled water, for a minute or so, I put it in with the snake, then put the deli under a pillow. The last one I left overnight and the next morning the pink was gone and there was a nice bulge in the snake. Try that next time. Oh, no peeking. Just leave the deli with the snake and boiled pinkie under the pillow overnight.
