Feeding Questions

ssmith_1187

In the land of Cheeeeeese
After reading a bunch of posts on the topic I've noticed the following underlying theme:

- Remove your corn from their primary enclosure and place them into a feeding box during feeding

I understand the reasons for doing so but it fosters the following 2 questions.

1) A side for their primary enclosure, do you provide a heat source for your Sterilite (for example) feeding box?

2) At what point after the snake has eaten the mouse can you pick it up and place it back in its primary enclosure? I'm assuming this "incidental" handling does not fall under the "Do not handle for at least 48 hours after a feeding." guideline.

Regards,
Steve

Not necessary. My snakes only end up staying in the box for no more than an hour. Unless I have a non-feeder I would leave them there overnight. Even then I dont use heat. As long as your place is temperature regulated you should be fine.

As soon as they are done swallowing I put mine back into their vivs. So it does not fall under the non handling rule until they are put back. Wait until the mouse is mostly down the snake before putting back into the viv.

Hope this helped!

I wait about 10 or 15 minutes after they eat to put them back.
