Howzit oaks, my names a bit different because the PC logged me out for some reason and I dunno how to log back in so this is my new name now! HEHE.

Back to da thread. My corn stopped eating just over a month ago and for all my feeding tricks I couldn't get it to eat for 4 weeks! Eventually I tried Elrojo's tupperware sinbin trick and after the second week of this he's back to eating again. I'll try this afternoon and see if I can get a 2 in a row.

But I ask you now... WHY? It can't be normal for a snake in an controled enviroment to just stop eating for a month and then returning to food with small pinkies?:confused:

Why can't it be normal...

With that said...A snake that is placed under severe stress or temps can refuse to eat...

Maybe the reason your corn refused was cause he did not feel safe eating in a big open space...Maybe he had a small parasitic infection that gave him a sick stomach...Maybe his metabolisim is a little slower the the average corn...Maybe he just didn't feel like it...Maybe he decided that what he was eating was to big for him and it scared him or maybe he just wanted a smaller meal...There are a million reasons why a snake will stop eating, even in captivity...

I hope that answers your questions as to why he stopped eating...On the other hand if you are logged out and you click on the user cp button at the top right of the page, you can log back in...

trust me, there's no such thing as a totally controlled environment. Corns can detect the most amazingly slight changes in environment. Remeber they are VERY sensitive to vibrations, it wouldn't surprise me if something like construction on the road in front of your house with Jackhammers for a few weeks caused the problems.

For all you know you had more people walking in front of the cage in those months or the coming of fall has changed the angle of the sun coming through the window and every time you enter the room it casts a shadow on the tank freaking him/her out.

Hey, you never know...

It just happens...
 
I think drizzt_19 has got it on the money with the food item thing, he was just starting on fuzzies the week before and the last fuz he had was VERY hyper-active. (I know coz I keep records).

Thanx, he's feeding back to normal now although also back on medium pinks!
