Feeding the snake...

After, I put the snake in the feeding container for it to eat, how long do I have to leave it there? And how long after that does it poo?

Depends on the individual snake. Personally I tend to wait until the feeding lump has moved right down the snake, and for a couple of my adults that stay in feeding mode and want to kill me after they've eaten I might wait 20 minues or so for them to calm down.
As for the pooping, they go when they need to, sometimes right before or right after feeding, stimulated by moving around. (Which is probably the poop from the feeding a week or so previously)

My snake is a hatchling. Should I just leave it alone before I take it back inside its cage? If so, how long should I wait before I do?

With babies just wait until you see the lump has moved right down the body then gently let it back into the viv. Extended handling isn't recommended after feeding because it can cause regurges, but if you think about it a snake in the wild may feed then have to travel to find a suitable place to rest and digest, so a quick and gentle move back to the viv shouldn't cause problems.
