Feeding

I just got my first corn snake and the feeding instructions that I recieved from the pet store says that I should feed my snake in a different container. Is this something that needs to be done? Or, can I just feed it in the terrarium it is in?

Thanks

The reason that they say to feed in a different containter is so that the snake doesn't accidently ingest some of the bedding. If you have a one peice substrate like paper then you son't have to worry about it. If you feed in a seperate container, let it eat in the feeding container then transferback to the viv.

i prefer to feed MR LEE in his viv . that seems to me that there would be less stress on him from the killing eating and then the move. he has enuff stress when i get him out to clean the tank and to hold him for the kids

If you feed in the viv the snake could end up eating some of the bedding material you use which could cause troubles for both of you. If you feed in a different container it just makes things easier. Usually shortly after a snake eats it eliminates :toiletgra if it does it in the feeding container you will not have to clean the viv as often.

You can do it right after he poops. The sooner you get him out after he poops the less chance you'll have that he tracks through it making clean up harder.
