feeding

An albino isn't a species, but rather a creature lacking the melanin pigment.

Most snakes will be happy and well nourished on a diet of one or two frozen/thawed rodents of apropriate size once a week.

Can you describe the snake a little more? Where did you get it?

well i haven't gotton him yet, i'm getting him on saturday hes about 40 cm long and 3 cm wide ihe's orange and red. I'm getting it from a local pet store. why do you ask?

Hi Ginger,
The reason for the discription is that the size of the food for snakes has alot to do with the size of the snake not the age. So by knowing the lenght and the size of the thickest part of the snake then we can give you the best answere.
The general rule is that you should feed the snake food (mice) that are about 1 1/2 times the size of the thickest part of the snake. About once a week.
I hope that this helps,
Jimmy C.

I would first ask the store where you are getting him from, what size mice they are feeding him. A general rule to use is for the mouse to be no bigger then one and one half times the girth of the middle body of your snake. People use various feeding schedules for their snakes. I feed my snakes that are that young 1 or 2 appropiate size mice every 4 days. Feeding the same once a week will work too. If you have any more questions please ask away:D Good luck and enjoy your new snake.
