 i am getting a new corn snake that is about a month old, can any1 tell me how many pinkies 2 give it and how often 2 feed it, i don't know coz this is my first ever snake.:p

I can help....

you can feed it once a week, but some people feed every 4 days or so. If it is only one month old, you would feed it one pinky at a time. Remember not to hold it or disturb it for 48 hours after it eats to avoid regurgitation. If it should regurg, you want to wait at least one week before feeding it again. During that week, you would not hold it or disturb it, other than to clean its water bowl.

You should think about buying a cornsnake manual or downloading info from the net. It is essential that you are clued up on keeping snakes before you leap into buying them! Everyone here (just about!) has Bill and Kathy Loves cornsnake manual. It tells you just about everything from feeding to breeding and sicknesses.
Have fun with your new snake!!

Hey,
Like Rachel says, the Corn Snake Manual is a fantastic investment and you'll find yourself reading it front to back several times.
If the snake you buy is only a month old then you should feed it one pinky a week and then two when it gets a little bigger. When the snake has grown sufficiently, you can start feeding it one fuzzy a week and then gradually move up to adult mice.

P.S.

Your feeding schedule can be changed to make the snake grow quicker and reach breeding size sooner. If fed something like three fuzzies each week then corns can reach minimum breeding size in around ten months. However, this is NOT reccomended and most breeders mature their corns over about one and a half years.
