hello

You fed cornsnakes a food item that is about the same size as your snake is around at the widest point. If he is as wide as a pinkie, then he gets pinkies, if he is larger a fuzzy might do him. It depends on his size. But you cannot go from pinkies striaght to adults.

As for feeding live, you are risking an injury to your snake. While snakes in the wild catch live food, most have scars from bites. And in captivity the snake cannot run away from a live prey item if you are not watching the entire time. It could kill your snake. This doesnt happen everytime but it is defintily something to consider.

It's hardly a pain in the ass thawing frozen mice. You just take them out the freezer and leave them to defrost. Feeding live mice is very dangerous for your snake and shouldn't really be done. Most organisations and hobbyists etc will advise you against feding live.

It's strongly suggested that you feed frozen mice. live ones can hurt your corn, as for size, there's 4 sizes. Pinky, fuzzy, hopper, adult. just make sure the food item is no more than 1.5 times as big as the largest par of your corn.

Hey Lian,
It takes less than 5 minutes to thaw a pinky when placed in warm water. Thats not a pain in the butt. Surley you can give your new snake 5 minutes. You dont have to sit there while it is thawing.
As the others have said it could be risky putting a live mouse in with your snake.
