Our little guy looked really cloudy so I was expecting a shed. Sprayed the tank etc. Then his eyes cleared up. (My daughter swears he did that last time when he shed) So I am checking everyday for the shed and nothing. Any thougts?
Thanks for all your help, I am trying to get the hang of this!

perfectly normal, nearly all snakes will gradually get more and more "whitish" then about a day or two before shed go perfectly clear. I myself used to be fooled by that trick and even got mad at certain little one's for not eating without excuse only to find skin the next day and stood around feeling stupid.

Now you know.

Low and behold he shed last night...I wanted to feel his skin afterwards, bad idea. He didn't like that at all. He did take a pinky so I'm better now. Phew.

They usually have an increased appetite after a shed. Bother our Corn's go directly to their meal without any hesitation at all after a shed.

Cheers,
Jason

Any one else experience the "I don't want to be touched I just shed?" Is this a hatchling behavior or are they like that even when they get bigger. Maybe it was just because he was hungry.

Mine doesn't seem to care if you hold her after shed, but she is a lot more perky. She eats well before shed too, so I've never had a problem there....

I guess their skin is still a little fragile right after a new shed (or so I read). I'm guessing that's why they would rather not be held... to protect the new skin.
