i try to keep my temperatures (heat) at about 85 degrees F for day time and about 70-75 degrees F night. You shouldn't use sand on the bottom because it might get in their scales and cause iritation and other problems (although some people do use sand with evidently no problems). Try using reptile bark, newspaper, butcher paper, or what i use pine shavings.

oh, btw- try to make only one side of the cage 85 degrees and the other a little cooler (like 75-80 degrees). that way the snake can pick which temperature it wants to be in. :cheers:

Never use sand, it can cause impaction wich could kill your snake. Like elaphe said, it can get inbetween their scales cuasing the snake pain.
For heat you should get an under tank heater for one side, or just a heat lamp. Either way try to keep a gradient, like one side 85 and the other 70.

UTH (under tank heaters) are the best for corns since the light could be too bright and its a fire hazard..

reading these posts i'm wondering about my own heating i have my warm side at about 80-78 degrees F(somehow it never goes any lower) and the cool side is about 75-70 degrees F. Is it too cold??
