Finally! My temp is SET.

It felt like forever, but it really only took me three days to get my temp set to the PERFECT 85 degrees using a lamp dimmer. I picked up another hide, and a MUCH smaller water bowl, and am now ready and waiting. My hatchling will ship on Wednesday, and I will pick her up at the FedEx hub on Thursday, at 8 AM.

Excited and nervous... again.

Good luck with your new aquisition. I always get exited when I have a new snake on the way! Regarding your temp, remember that with a dimmer, that perfect 85 degrees will fluctuate with room temps. A dimmer wont hold a specific temperature, it will only regulate how much current is going to the mat.

The good news is that there is an acceptable range that's OK for the hot side. Just keep an eye out when you have seasonal ups and downs in your in home temps....

Good Luck and post some pics when you get it!

The room itself stays fairly steady, but yes, I will watch it once the heat kicks on in the winter. Thank you.

Does the cage look okay for a hatchling? I tried to put lots of hides in there to keep her confidence up, plus, I figure she can burrow under the litter if she wants to.

Ack! Due to the heat wave, Susan and I decided not to even ATTEMPT shipping the little girl yet. I definitely don't want to risk any more heat related issues. It's supposed to cool down some next week from what I have heard, so I will watch for a good temp window in which to ship.
