I hate to say it, but she's not hypo or bloodred. She's too dark to be hypo and has too much side pattern to be bloodred. Is her belly free of checkers? Was she sold to you as a hypo blood?

It's a beautiful little corn you've got there, but it's definitely not a bloodred. Looks like a pretty little normal to me.

There's no reason to feel stupid! Even the "experts" don't always know exactly what they have in a corn. Looking at lots of pictures will help you learn the different morphs. Hanging around here will certainly help, as will other websites.

I used this one all the time when looking up a specific morph:

I know I've looked at like a trillion different places and i cant find anything then it said something about bloodred and there was a picture that looked just like her.. Like perfect so.. I was just like welp guess this is what she is.. I dont know all these morphs.. I'm waaaayy to new..

It takes time to get the hang of the different morph names and looks in time. Your little one is a beautiful looking classic (aka normal) corn. Keep us posted with pics as she grows. You'll be amazed by the change in colour.

I agree that you have a very nice looking normal. From what I can see, the borders are all really clean and I *LOVE* that!

Just wanted to add, because this confused me for a while at first, too... "Bloodred" doesn't necessarily have to do anything with the color of the snake. It actually has more to do with the pattern. The more accurate term/description for the "bloodred" gene expression is "diffused". With a bloodred/diffused corn, the pattern on its sides is kind of broken up in a way that it looks like it's fading away, and the pattern along its back can also disappear with each shed. (You may already know this, but if it helps I wanted to share. :))

I hope that helps. :)

When I first joined here, I was showing off my new "Okeetee" cornsnake, only to find out that no... he was not. Oh well! As long as you love it, that's what counts! :D
