Nice lil guy! I think normals are great looking myself (why I have only one, I don't know).

How are you heating? I see your thermometer probe laying on top of the aspen next to his TP hide. If you're heading from below, it'd be better to put the probe under the aspen so you can better tell if it is getting too hot down there (he will burrow). If you're heating from above, then that's the right placement.

Looks like your other hide is a gatorade powder container? Niiiiice. Name him "Gator" and confuse your friends. :)

Contrats!

ya i had it a cm below, but i just moved it before i took that pic
and ya haha that would be a funny name, but i also have a sherbert cup for the other hide so maybe "sherbert" lol

well thank you:uhoh:
im so proud of him even though hes "just" a normal
i guess thats why not many people have commented so far
...i couldv'e gotten a ghost but for some reason my insticts made me choose this little dude :)

He's a cutie!! My first cornsnake was a normal! My Miami Cherry is a normal! And (cross your fingers!!!!!!!) I hope I just bought another normal today!!

Hey, cool! I just looked at the pic again, are they wooden hands holding a stick on the left of the snake? I need some art in Cheerio's viv.

There's a thread somewhere on here called 'post your normals' that your little guy needs to be in! Congrats on a nice pick-up, some morphs leave me cold, but normals always look great to me, in all their variations.

I keep hoping to see another normal out in the wild, but I am afraid of what I'd do...

I wonder how I resist everything else, all the yellow rats, and black racers, and rough greens and stuff...

Ha, that's funny, me too! I see black racers around here all the time in the summer. I always think about taking one home, they look so beautiful.

I guess it's better to leave them, though. Ecological balance and all, still........

I caught a baby black racer the same summer I found Maizey. I thought it was some sort of beautiful baby cornsnake! Only it bit me like 5000 times. (Which, I found out, is an identifying chanracteristic of baby black racers!) I brought him in the house and looked him up and got the correct ID and decided he would always be cranky, so released him. I've found a couple since then, and they are all the same. I've never caught an adult. I have caught a couple black rats, though- they are always calm and gentle! I even took one for a short mountain bike ride to show my friends.

Seriously, WC snakes are more trouble than they are worth, in my experience.

Didn't know they (black racers)were so bitey. Some have just layed there while I looked them over, took off if I was too intrusive.
We have black rat snakes at work that I am always asked to "remove from the building". My question is always"Do you want snakes, or do you want mice and rats?". They always choose mice and rats, herpophobia I guess(or is it serpophobia?).
They are very nice, only one has bitten my glove, but they almost always "squirt". I guess I assumed the racers would be the same.
