First clutch

I have my first clutch this year. One egg hatched 2 days ago on day 69. Another came out today. The remaining 6 eggs look great, but no signs of hatching.

They were incubated at 79 - 82 degrees, with a home made incubator.

Just wait it out is the advice I have received so far. An other opinions? How long do I wait?

I have noticed that home made incubators often have some uneven temperature gradients from one side to the other. This difference could only be a degree or two, but over the entire incubation period, can lead to some eggs hatching before others. Patience is key. If they look good, leave them be. Good luck.

Glad to hear it. For next year, you may want to consider rotating your egg containers. I have home made incubators (wine cooler types) and I know from experience that if one side of the egg container is up against the door, the eggs on that side will hatch a day or two later than the ones toward the back. Because of this, I make sure I turn the container around every few weeks or so and this helps to even out hatchings.

Or, you can just let them hatch at different rates. It won't hurt anything, I just find it more convenient to get them all at once.

Whew! So glad to hear it. I also rotate the egg containers. I move them from the upper shelf to the lower shelf, and I can only rotate them 180 degrees, but I do that.

I had a clutch this year with I guess 9 eggs that looked fertile in the last week. Eight hatched over the course of a couple days, and the last egg was noticeably bad two days later. I left it a few more days just in case, but if it's not viable, after hatching has passed, it goes bad fast.
