First snake, first feed!

Success. Fifth night after receiving Cadmus, he was bold and did not immediately hide when I opened his tank. So, into the feeding tub he went, and about 15 minutes later started chowing down! He's only 8.4g and took down a 1.7g pinky. If only I could eat 20% of my weight in steak... I'm surprised how quick it gets into their middle-ish section after the slow process of swallowing. Though, he took it back end first, maybe it is faster if they find the head first?

It is exciting to see the first feed! Mine has eaten head first and bum first and it does seem to go faster head first. I like using the blow dryer method, which I learned on here. After it's thoroughly thawed, I use a blow dryer to heat the head only. Works like a charm! The only time she ate it bum first was the time I didn't use that trick.

First feeds are always such a proud and fun moment. I was shocked with my first snake feed and admittedly freaked out that he was completely starved or something because it went down so fast. Congrats on the wonderful feed and the boldness of your snake. Lots of baby corns prefer hiding a ton.

Update. Cadmus has reached 24.3 grams (just before feed), and has been following the Munson plan (slower/smaller side) with no issues. I have now moved him up to small fuzzies. And he has started to curl up on these! Two twists so far, nice and aggressive. Pinkies are apparently too small and he just bites in, from the middle...
