First snake growth question...

Anyway, the situation with my snake simply enforces my belief that powerfeeding isn't a healthy practice.

Well I'm sure Mr.Bill will be ok. I guess the reason for the Cornnsnake Race practice is that he is hunting for more food after he eats. His meals are still a little on the small side. (as per the care sheet that came with him).

I found 36" as a max length to go to a once a week feeding on another site. Who knows.

Thiis morning, two days after feeding a nice size fuzzie, he is still racing around his cage. This morning I pushed down the high bankings in two corners, moved one of his plastic hides back to it's proper loation, I removed a bunch of Repti-Bark from his water and flattened down the hump in the center of his cage. I still don't know how he does that one. I just did this last night before I went to sleep.

I am so grateful to Kathy Love for picking out such an active yearling for me. It's fun to watch his antics. Yesterday he kept making a bee-line for his hide. When he reached it he looked at me to see if i was watching. When he saw me, he climbed over his hide instead going into it. He did that three times. As long as I watched, he stayed out and even did little snake tricks for me. You know, like sit and stay. (heel, roll over and fetch will require training.) <VBG>

I am just an amateur, but when I purchased my first two corns they were exactly the same size.

One grew like crazy, both length and gerth

While the other showed very little growth at all.

Everyone is different..they were fed the same and kept in the same environment.

NOW the smaller one is starting to grow..
