First Snake of the Year!

Michelle's Candied Corns!
Look how cute!!!
He is "just" a little wandering garter, but this is really all we have around here. I find a lot of the eastern garters too, the occasional bull, and very rarely a rattler. We had three of these guys in the yard today, two of them were chased in by some school kids earlier today and my mom yelled at them to leave them alone because they were spitting on them. As we were talking about that we noticed our big fat gentle cat messing with something in the rocks, so I went to check it out, and this sweetheart was there! He was right in the same place in the garden where I buried Jasper, my first corn snake. This guy was super sweet, a part of me was really sad because it reminded me of how gentle Jasper was.

Haha, I feel like we never even got winter here. The reptiles are definitely out.. I know lots of people have been finding rattlers and bulls already, I just assumed they were all still sleeping because I hadn't seen any roadkill yet.
