First time for a "skipped dinner" ??

:shrugs: I feed my snake,or I should say made an attempt,,to feed.I let her go 8 days because her last meal was a bit on the large side.Since eating she had 2 bm'ers.She has come into blue,but this has never stopped her before.
Why do you think she didn't want her mouse ??.I am going to wait till she sheds before I try again.These mice are too expensive to toss out on a regular basis :eek1:

How old is the snake? I would say eight days is too short a time to be overly worried, esp. if the last meal was big. I commonly see my snakes refuse before they shed, not always, but often enough that I have stopped offering. Like you say, might as well save the mouse for later.. :cheers:

Yeah, some snakes wont accept anything when they are in their shedding phase.

I got her last Sept.,,so I'm thinking she hatched in Aug.,,just under a year old.
It just struck me as weird because this has never happened before.She is due to shed by the end of the week,so I'm going to wait.

Most of mine eat before shed, but I have had a couple that out of the blue decide they won't eat before it. Even if they've eaten every time in the past. I suspect once yours sheds, it will eat like a champ. 8 days is no problem. Mine are on 12 right now. They'll get fed tonight.
