FL Summers & Breeding

Dale

Interventions won't work
OK, so I have gotten my breeding colony of mice and rats rolling, and was lucky enough to have my first litter of 14 healthy rats born recently. I have a 5 tub rack system set up for the rats, and 5 lab cages for the mice. Everything is going nicely, but I wonder about the summer.

While I can easily heat the garage (where they are located) during the colder winter nights, I worry about the summer temps. Do we have any breeders in the south out there that have to contend with this?? I'm sure I can set up 1-2 large fans to keep the air fresh and circulating, but I worry about those heat waves and the 95+ degree days. How do the rodents do??
