flexwatt w/ a dimmer?

id like to make a rack in the coming days and plan to use flexwatt to heat the tubs but is it okay to use a dimmer? (like the one from the "make a rheostat for $7 thread ) Obviously a real thermostat would be best, but would using a dimmer w/ flexwatt lead to a fire hazard for 6 months, 1 year, however long it takes to get a stat?

It will work fine, just get/borrow an infared thermometer to make sure the temp isn't too hot, nothing worse then melting the sterilites with your snake inside. I would reccomend some of the aluminom tape to cover the flexwatt.
