For the people who think balls never eat.

Captive Bred Quality ONLY
Very seldom do balls go off fedd for no reason. Theres a reason. Temprature and humidity are some big factors. The temprature needs to be just right or you could have eating problems. Another factor that comes into play would be prey size. If your feeding your ball python that is 800G 3-4ft(1m) long a medium rat every week , it could go off feed within months. A rat the same sizearound as the biggest part of the body(no bigger) will do the job and keep them feeding.

Hope it helps...just wanted to get that out!! LOL! :santa:

lol very useful info Stangs, Im quite lucky to of not have had any major problems with mine, as yet :grin01:
Royals are hiped up for feeding problems, just buy cb to lower the chaces and do it right and theyll be fine.
:wavey:

Mine is fairly young...about 370g. I got him as a rescue from the local pound. He was a "stray".

The DAY I brought him home from the pound, he SLAMMED a f/t mouse instantly, and he's eaten them with a fury that startles me weekly ever since...for months and months. Who knows what the future holds, but for now, he's an AMAZING pig, and I couldn't be happier. :)

Hail to the expert eh :grin01:

One good thing to have for ball pythons are tight hides, ones that they can squeeze into and feel all around them. It will go along way towards making them feel safe. Once they feel safe nonfeeders can start to think about food...

I would also think that if it was in a very high traffic area of the house that it would be stressed out from all the movement and not eat.

Darkness is the key for my snake. So long as the room is dark, he eats every week without a hitch. I've never found a problem with BPs eating actually.

Out of the 2 BP's I have, one is a fairly steady eater and one is a picky s.o... yeah you get the idea. The larger of the two will NOT eat rats, he will turn up his nose if I offer him a white male mouse, and will not eat prekill or F/T. He will only eat the offered prey if he is hanging from the rim of a 5 gallon bucket so he can pounce on the unlucky mouse from above. I swear he thinks he's a GTP or ETB the way he hangs around.

Other then him I have no complaints! lol
