Found my snake!! But is it okay??

Im so happy that I found back my snake! In only 2 days... I thought i lost her for good... But now im a bit worried, after searching my whole room I taped up every hole etc.. then i left traps, I used double side tape and today when i came home there she was stuck on the tape... At first I was very happy to see her but then seeing how badly she was stuck i got worried... As i was pulling her off the tape some colour/pattern of her skin was left behind on the tape and her head and mouth was also open and stuck... Finally when i got her off nice and gently she seem fine and moving around and drinking water... Do you guys think shes fine?

The fact that she's moving normally and drinking, is a good sign. Give her three or four days left alone to settle down, then offer her some food. If she eats, I'd say she's fine.

As she's had some scale damage from the tape, you can probably expect her to shed quite quickly.
 
The sad part is shes also a non feeder... she hasn't eat since I got her... which has been just over a month... So who knows how long she hasn't ate... I think I should feed her very soon... don't have much time...
 
Still leave her a couple of days. You'd be surprised at how long they can go without eating. She will be very stressed after her ordeal, and feeding her too soon could cause another refusal.
 
I found my snake after she had been missing or a month. I was VERY worried about her, because she looked smaller than when I got her. I left her alone for a few days, and now she is a little over 2ft long :)

NICE! I guess mine is doing ok now... I know the tape must of damage some of her scales but I ask people and they said if shes a baby she will be fine after a few sheds.... And just just started eatting too :crazy02:

I just found my snake last night. he was missing, for about 6 weeks. lst track of how long it was! Anyway, we searched the house high and low, gutted all the rooms of clutter etc. no snake. stil a mystery how he got out of viv in 1st place. so i had almost given up on him. it wasnt practical having plastic bags and bottle traps everywhere, and the flour was all over the house. we stopped actively searching about three weeks ago.

Last night, I was dropped off home, and as i went to the door, there he was, up against the wall, head poking out as if to say, gonna let me in or what?!

He was outside for lord knows how long! In scotland, it has been pretty chilly, but it was getting real frosty last night, and it brought him out from wherever he's been. He is in great condition considering, just a little rag of skin on his head lef from a shed i thik, coz he is really bright just now. he is a little skinny, but i dont imagine he ate much. he had 2 pinkies and a good drink when i got him back, and all night and today, he been trying to get back out.

If mine can survive outside for ovr a month, with a prowling cat, and other creepy things, he must be a real fighter eh?

One thing though...back to square one with the handling. he is a wild beast all over again!

Thought he was a gonner...just shows you.

How the hell did it get out side lol!!! YOur really luckey then, if it was outside and you still found it!
 
We have no idea how he got out of the viv, let alone outside but,

About a month ago, we got a new suite, and although we checked and double checked the old one, it seems the only valid possibility as to how he got outside. He was gone for a month when the suite went out to be collected.

Been watchin him over the past few days, he's so funny. He wont drink from his bowl, but he is trying to eat the plastic leaves in the viv! Musta been eating grass outside to survive or somethin. I give them a spray and he takes a drink, at leas he taking fluids somehow!

He also sits and wathces my dog goofing around in the living room, like he's been watching him in the garden when he out playing.

Just happy to have him back. No feeding problems, but one wee Q re: feeding...

He seems to be looking for food constantly. I have been chopping fuzzies in half and feeding him one, minus skull, just until his tummy gets used to food again, but I had to give him a second one last night, coz he would not settle.

Can I feed him more than usual if he will take it? I dont think a snake will feed if he isn't hungry, but I dnt want to cause him any more distress by overfeeding. I just think about how skinny he is, and go get another meal for him. Am I doing a bad thing here?

I suppose all I really wanted to say is that you should never give up on a lost or missing snake. They will turn up, one way or t'other.

I just feel like the luckiest person on earth, even now. But its Harry (Houdini) who is lucky really.

How greatful is he?? Greatful enough to be constantly scoping his turf for another escape plot. He never stops!

I would like to thank posters who gave real good advice on traps and ways to find missing snakes, although they didn't work for me, I felt better for knowing at the time I was doing everything I could. Brilliant site :bowdown:
