For those of you out there who use forest floor and have encountered wood mites, how long do you freeze the bedding? and does it really kill the mites?
overnight usually does fine. I've never encountered them in forest floor, but every bag of reptibark i've ever had contained them. From then on out, i've froze every bag of substrate overnight, and never have had anymore wood mites
I know they are harmless to her, I just think they are gross uke01:
and don't want to think about them crawling all over the place and getting on me when I handle her and change her water or clean out poop.
