In keeping with my "luck" This is what I found today, a litter of 5. Two are dead and it doesn't appear that the others are being nursed. On the other hand, another female is looking a little chubby. Maybe they need to do the few litters thing to figure it out. Shazbot! :bang:

Bummer! I was hoping for you :( Maybe it's just because it's her first time? Hope it doesn't take her to long to figure this out!

Not too bad. At least they HAD babies, proof positive you didn't get defective mice this go around. ;)

Some first time mothers are great and know what to do, some are worse than worse. Sometimes they figure it out the next time, rarely, sometimes they don't. Just play it by ear and see how her next litter goes. I usually give them 3-4 tries before declaring them "bad" and culling them.

I would go ahead and feed them all off, to be honest. 2 pinks aren't enough to stimulate any quantity of milk to flow, so that could be the problem with no evidence of nursing yet. And the stillborn ones saves you from having to buy food for 3.

Hopefully the next female knows whats going on and does good for ya. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Wow. One of my girls I've had since she was born gave birth to 8 and nursed her young. But then again she has "learned" from the other 3 before her. So yea. Just thought I'd tell you. Mike I think is just first time thing for her. So good luck for the next litter.

Darn! Sorry to hear about the bad news. Good news that she had babies, though. I've had a couple start out that way, but things got better with the next litter. We'll keep our fingers crossed that things improve next time.
