Frosting?

Father of the Snakist
Buster, our, oops my son's, little Hypo has just had his first shed with us. What has become more apparent are some lighter coloured bands within his saddles, like frosting almost. I have attached a couple of photos.

Is this normal?

Is it likely to get more pronounced as he grows older?

Is this a trait of hypomelanism?

Does anyone have any adult photos of where he may be heading?

Is it a trait bred into bloodlines, or just an anomaly?

We think its kinda cool BTW.

Cheers

Ian

That type of lightening in the saddles is a very common occurrence. In truly frosted snakes, the effect is much more pronounced and is seen in much more of the saddle. Here is a hypo and a normal adult showing the same effect.
