genetics question

apologies in advance if this sounds silly or has been asked before

Is it possible to have a hypo corn that is het for both ghost and bloodred? We eventually want to breed from our little girls and were deciding what type of male to get. Sadly we couldn't remember totally what our li'l hypo is het for. We think its either hypo het ghost bloodred stripe or a hypo het bloodred stripe.

i'm pretty sure she was sold as het ghost bloodred stripe but after reading up a little on genetics (thanks kathy love!) i'm unsure if she can be het for both bloodred and ghost.

It could be she's het for bloodred pattern and was miss labeled.

Thanks for any ideas folks =s

It is possible for a hypo to be het anery (a hypo anery is a ghost) but het ghost is technically incorrect... it is hypo and not het hypo. But yes it can be het for anery, bloodred, and stripe. Who was the breeder? If that's what a reliable breeder told you, that's what it is.
If you combine bloodred with another gene, it will not necessarily be a red snake, but will still carry the "diffused" pattern. Additionally, snakes that are het for bloodred will often show shome visible markers for that het.

Shes a hypo and the breeder is pretty reputable. Thanks for clearing that up abit. Will be banging away at corn prog tonight! I still need to get my head round this genetics malarky :dunce:
