I received a call from one of the local Fish and Game officers a few days ago with an odd request. He knows I do quite a bit of field herping and he ask if I had the equipment to geotag any venomous I find while I am about. I told him I could with my phone so he wants me to relay the info after each trip to him so they can monitor a trend of venomous getting bolder and venturing closer to civilization. Obviously I am not the only one doing this I know a few students from WKU are in on this too.
After words I started thinking what if I geotag all of my finds? I can input them onto a Google maps page that will show me at a glance where I am finding what. Anyone else doing this?
