Giant land snails?

I was planning on destroying the eggs, because I dont want ~200 little snails squirming around! I know to either boil, freeze or crush them, I think boiling or crushing will be the eastist!
B&Q do clear underbed storage boxes for £4 odd so housing isnt a problem, I was planning to buy coir blocks for substrate and also spahgnum moss. I know for the winter I will need a heat mat and have heard that placing it on the side (outside) of the tank is better than on the bottom which can cook a snail... I will not be able to buy a thermostat for a while so I shall have to buy a thermometer and switch the heat off when it gets too hot. I know to mist daily.

Does any of the above info sound wrong to you?

Personally I find freezing easiest, but any of those methods will do the trick. :)

Sounds pretty good - just make sure if you are going to use tubs that they have some height to them as snails will climb.

Just a word on the heatmat, if it's too hot it can cook the snails wherever it's placed; side or bottom, doesn't matter. When the heat mat is on you need to be extra vigilant keeping the snails moist. I recommend you provide them with a shallow dish of water, this helps keep the snails hydrated as they will sit in the water and absorb moisture through the skin.
 
Yeah, they're pretty addictive. ;)

Mine are fulicas. But I have plans to branch in to other snails when I have more room for animals.
