Glass or wood???

Like the one who wants a cornsnake.
I want to know if a glass tank or a wooden tank would be better suited for my SNAKE!

The sort of tank/viv you use depends on what you want your snake to be. A nice glass viv is much more of a pleasent thing to look at than some plastic tanks. Where you want to put it, how big you want it and how much money you want to spend will all have a bearing on what you buy

I've never heard of or seen a wooden tank... Do you mean one that's constructed entirely out of wood? I don't think I would like that, because you can't see through it, and I like to watch my snake in his tank. The tanks I have are made of glass.

I'll be moving my Wilma into a new viv in a couple of month's and that is wood, they have sliding door's at the front, but if you get that type you must fit a lock onto it, stop's them escaping. At the moment mine are in Hagen pet pal's, plastic tank's. Good luck with what you choose.

i do have glass, bud look ast this nice wooden cage! it is realy great! there is a dutch worker who specialises in wooden terarium! you could visit his website at http://www.dezwart-terrariums.com bud it is a dutch site! so good luck finding the terrarium pictures! i'll post one here!

i personal think that wood viv with glass sliding doors are the bests as you can control the heat beter on these types of vivs. but that is my opion. at the end of the day its your chose so good luck

Neither! I have all plastic vivariums from BARRS. They are great, don't weigh a lot, hold in the humidity, etc. You can have problems with the wood warping due to the wetness of washing it if you don't seal it extremely well. Glass doesn't hold in the humidity very well. And they both weigh a lot! So check out the cages from BARRS, Neodesha, Vision, Boaphiles, and several others.

but by building your own u also get satifaction,plus alot cheaper,and you can shape it the way you want,plus if you seal it with aquarium sealant around allthe inside joints,the water doesnt'rot the wood

I have all wooden tanks called vivariums, because they hold in the heat much better. As I live in cold old England, this is a much warmer home for my babies. If you live overseas where it is much warmer you dont have to worry about the temps dropping too low, and glass tanks are fine.

I use wood (that have glass sliding doors at front) because I put another cage on top with sliding doors. If i had aquariam like thing with top opening then i couldn't do this (i realise you can get glass front opening but they are hard to find for me)

Glass terrariums work fine for corns, unless you live in a dry area where keeping humidity up is an issue.

The BARRS cages look pretty nice, and are cheap. I'm thinking of getting one for my new amazon tree boa.

Wooden cages look really good, but usually are expensive, and are usually larger than corn-sized cages.

If you use wood....

make sure it is sealed with a water based sealer or put wallpaper on the wood. A pain the butt if ya get mites.
