Golddust Hurricane??

SWINGRRRR

I need/want a 'Cane
I would just like some opinions before I purchase. If you are the breeder reading this, I am not second guessing you, I just don't have much (read: any) experience and would just like to confirm before spending ALOT of money.

I wouldn't pay an extra amount for this animal because of the "hurricane" pattern... but golddustmotleys are rather expensive anyway ;)

Well, I talked to some guys on chat the other night and they said the price was good. I just want to be sure on the pattern. I read a thread where people were going back and forth whether or not a certain snake was a Hurricane or not.
I don't have the experience to make the call.

It does look like one to me but I would not buy it because it is or is not. I would buy it if YOU like it. A snake is only worth its price if the buyer thinks it is. Also the hurricane pattern is not like a het. What I mean is two snakes with hurricane pattern does not make all hurricane babies. it is hit or miss with that.

I get what you are saying. I really really like it, but I dont want to be calling it something its not. I have a better pic of him Ill post in a second.

Looks like a "Normal" Goldust Motley to me. Very nice snake but to me Motley is Motley. I wouldn't pay any extra for it just because he/she is marketing it as a hurricane. Very nice specimen but still just a Motley. It really doesn't matter what the price is as long as you feel it is worth it. How much is that snake worth to you? :shrugs:

I agree. For it to be a "hurricane", I'd expect lots more of the "eye" spots on the back.
Golddust Motley is my call (As long as the belly is clean white)

It seems many Caramels and related Morphs tend to have a "Hurricane"-ish look. I think you will find fewer animals NOT having this effect than having it.

Why is just the fact of it being a Golddust, it so much more money than other snakes I have seen? Are the golddust's a new morph?

Yes a Golddust is a relatively new morph that has been around for a few years now. It is the combination of Ultra + Amel + Caramel. Yours happens to be Motley so that helped determine the cost of the snake as well. As they are bred more and become more available the market price will drop somewhat. Very nice snake B.T.W.

If you are not a person that just buys snakes because of their look with no intentions in breeding em, I'd suggest you to read a book about morphs and take a look around in the boards before buying such "expensive" snakes.
Especially if you plan to breed these, you better plan on what to buy and what groups are a good trade-off between the look that you should like and the offspring they produce.
