:wavey: Well, to my suprise my lil guy peaches shed this morning. I saw it when I woke up. So far everything is off but the stuff at his tail. He is still tryin to get everything off, and I hope he does. Id like to put his shedded skin in a bag to show my mom when she gets home or who ever would want to see it lol. :cheers: :sidestep:
 
lol, well i only found one eye cap but im sure the other will come off if its not already off and i just havent found it yet. lol
 
lol yea it feels good. lol when i first saw him exploring his cage..i thought he has been hiding all week but then we he came all the way out i saw that he was flaky and he was shedding. lol at first when i saw the flaky part coming off i was like wtf did he do to him self lol but i know now that he was just shedding. :)
 
i just let him go by his self..he did good tho. I am still looking for one eye cap but im sure ill find it or it will come off in the next shed.
 
Great news!

I was sooooooo relieved when Monty's 1st shed went well!!! Congrats. I imagine eventually these things will be no big deal for us. LOL
 
lol yea , it will prolly get old and well be sayin "there goes another shed....i remember when it was a big deal" lol
 
Congrats Rayray, we also had a good first shed off our little girl this week, great feeling isn't it? We found the tip of her tail and all the other skin but like you only one eye cap!!!!!!! What do they do with it? I am sure it has come off as her eye look perfectly normal. She did a big poop at the same time she was shedding so the cap could have been thrown out with that. who knows..........Life with snakes is never 100% straightforward is it! :wavey:

Did he shed in one piece, or was the shed skin flaking off? If the skin was flaking off, that's not good. Either way it doesnt seem like you had a complete shed. You would be able to see a retained eye-cap, so if the eye is "clear" then I'm sure it was shed.

Take special care to see that the very tip of his tail shed. If not, the tip of the tail can become constricted and die off. I had it happen to my snow--just didnt see the tiny piece of retained shed.
 
i agree i had my first shed last week and it was textbook, as far as i know, saw the snake a little light in color, came back 2 hours later and there were 2 long long pieces of skin in the cage.. i thought it was supposed to come off in one, but my guy was fully shed for sure...maybe he ripped the piece of skin in 2 somehow i dont know.
 
No, the shed was all noe long piece. It didnt flak off, it jus slid right off of him :) and i noticed peaches (thats what i name it lol) did poop before his shed....but he was prolly gonna do that neway i dunno if was because he was going to shed or not.
