got a job

Cornsnake124

Country boy gone wild
Well, looks like I have a job on my hands. its a little like nanci's job ( http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68545 ) as a fellow snake buster a while ago, exept i was at summer camp when it happened, which makes the job even harder. A neighbor was opening up her dish drawer, and when she did, looking back at her was a big bull snake!! (apon her acount) Well then she franticly called dean papish, (her son) who came over and feaked out about it, and in that time went out through a hole in the drawer behind the cabinet. Now remember I live out in the country, so snakes are every where. (not encluding the fact that her basement is crawling with snakes) She is elderly, so what a situation it was for her!! I am the snake expert of the area, so I have been pretty much auto-hired as the guy to catch the snake. The only problem is that I have no idea where the snake is now. I was wondering if anyone knew any types of traps that would be right for this job. I will be using the flower around the walls tactic, but I need more than just that, I need somthing to catch it to some extent.:bounce: (can't be there every second to see if it is anywhere) Any help?

Depending on how big it is, maybe you could try the soda bottle trap? I'm sure that if you do a search here you can find the details. I do recall that it involves putting a mouse inside a 2 liter soda bottle after you cut of the top (maybe 1/4th) and turn it upside down and tape it.
Good luck.

I wonder if it can come and go from outside to in.

I had this friend in Minnesota that would get leopard frogs in her basement, and tiger salamanders. That was the coolest.

You need a few different size snakes that you can take with you....Then if you don't get the culprit, get the necessary size snake out of it's bag, show the occupier saying 'I got this one but I think there's more down/in there'........Then hit them for a retainer to come back and do a thorough sweep.... LOL

Thanks everyone. I'l see about the bottle trap. In her acount, its BIG. but I am not enclined to belive its that huge. I have yet to talk to her but I will try to get over there sometime monday. I don't really want to use glue traps just to let you know. I am hoping that i will get to do a thorough sweep of her cabinets AND her basement. :)
