This year I was real excited to get a phone call from one of my good friends saying his band got a grammy nomination....a couple of mins later got a email from another friend informing me his band got one too haha. What are the odds.

Sadly Slayer and Kind Diamond are always nominated but rarely get it. Now the song that my friend Phil is in I think has a real good chance vs the song my main boys have the nomination for. So keep your fingers crossed for em.
 
Yeah I don't like Korn much either. Sadly Slayer never wins...theyve been nominated a lot. As much as I want my friend's band to win, I think my other buddies band will. Thx for the imput!!

How about you tell us which is which?
Seems a bit fishy you make this thread claiming to be friends with nominated bands, but make no calls on who is in which band...

Don't mean to start anything.. but it just seems odd..
IF i was friends with someone who was nominated against some legendary bands (Slayer and machine head) id be all about letting everyone and there mother know. :flames:
 
4 of the guys from Shadows Fall are like my brothers and Phil Demmel from Machinehead is a friend. I didn't want to mention names cause I usually get hasseled about hooking people up with either tickets or get asked to give them a demo cd of somesort.

But now it's in the open. Phil I've known for a year. Matt. Paul, Jon and Brian from Shadows Fall I've known since I was 15
 
How can any metalhead not give it up to Slayer! Slayer is pretty much a rock GOD! I have been to a ton of metal concerts, but the time I went to New Years Evil with Slayer and Pantera, I came home with a concussion, and bruise the shape of a boot on my back.... and I loved it!!! I will never forget it. Then again, thats the old school metalhead in me. I can't really give much praise to some of the new bands. Except Avenged Sevenfold... I kinda like them. :shrugs: Then again, I support more local music than mainstream. Have to give it up to local talent. Garage bands are the best.

And OT but has anyone tried to nail Raining Blood on Guitar Hero? I'm pretty good (trucking along on "hard" now) but I've been working on that song for a week and I still can't nail it! Not to mention that my fingers are trickling a steady flow of blood!

Rena's legit, she walks the walk.. As far out as that sounds.. Seems pretty far fetched I guess, but you just never know who will befriend.. Pretty darn cool huh.. :cheers:

One spooky dude. Don't like his voice. Or didn't; can he still hit the highs? Love his band though.

I met him gee, must be 20 years ago. After a KD/Savatage show. Shook his hand. It was cold. He was with a girl who looked about 13. It was Jon Oliva's B-day and we were partying at the Howard Johnsons. KD showed back up at the hotel w/o the girl. SOmeone asked him were the young lady he was with was at. He denied having a young lady with him. Been checking milk cartons ever since.

No haha, I just got into metal.
And slayer has the most number of songs in my psp out of all the bands.:)
