Help please, my six week old corn has managed to find an escape route, (He escaped).

I have searched the room completley, even had carpets up, backing off my settee, tv out everything and cannot find him. Any idea's how to get him back? is there a trap you can set, it is his feed night so any help or advice would be greatley appreciated.

Was gonna put a heat mat down in the middle of the floor with a mouse inside a tube to see if that would help, what do ya think?

how strong is the senses of a corn to smell out a mouse ?

senses to smell a mouse are pretty strong. Put a mouse on something you have that makes a whole bunch of noise. Like tissue paper or something crinkly. Sit awake in that room in the middle of the night (it gets boring but keep quiet) and listen for rustling. Set the mouse near the wall because they usually crawl along the walls. Shut any doors and stuff things under them to try and keep your snake in one room. Good Luck!
 
ok are you posotive that it is in that room because maybey it has gotten out of the room. But the idea with the mouse is great so you should try that. If possoble try to keep all the doors shut so it would be harder for it to escape. Check the heaters in the room because snakes love the warmth. Goodluck!:D:D
 
Yep im sure its in that room, has i always close the door because of the cat,
i've put down a mouse as suggested, banned the kids from that room, no tv, no lights( except me with my flash light) now just waiting, gonna be a long night i suppose.

Oh and there is no heating as i'm in the middle of decorating upstairs so all heating have been turned off, due to radiator having to be taken off.

i hope you find your hatchling. i had an escape yestoday too. but the only place i ever look is my sons toy box, i've had 4 escapes in the 18 months i've had snakes and they always go to the middle of my sons toy box, (i keep them in my sons room)---maybe you have a nice box stuffed with inviting look hids in your living room? or a firewood box?

Well still have'nt found him yet, baited with pinkie, stayed up all nite, but nothing yet
at my whits ends now
 
There are about a million suggestions (o.k., I exaggerate..) on the search function. Just type in escaped snake, or something like that and you'll get all kinds of threads. You might try looking under the tank. I know someone found their snake curled up in the space under the tank when it escaped. Someone else found it in the top part of their blinds. You'd be surprised how well they can hide, but it's usually very close to the viv.
 
Still have'nt found my baby yet, been leaving pinkies all around the house, stayed up for the past 2 nites, but cannot find him, been leaving water too, so how long can he go without food or water at this age, getting very worried now

I lost my 2 month old baby last September.I to was in the middle of decorating and had carpets up exposing gaps in the floor boards.I lifted every board in every room to no avail. In June this year, I was cleaning the windows and saw him clinging to the brickwork at the back of the house.He was no bigger than when i lost him but ate straight away and now hes growing well. I think he may have gone into a semi hibernation or just got by on spiders and condensation. Good luck and be patient :)
 
Hey Jane, I know what youre going through

Hey Jane, if you havent found him already...try looking inside any dresser drawers which are in the room...Also...are you SUUURE he didnt go out of that room??? Because if he did....he could be ANYWHERE in the house. My snake escaped once from the upstairs bedroom...he went DOWN THE STAIRS, past the living room, past the dining room, into the kitchen...and I found him in the broom closet next to the refrigerator. So, if you havent found him yet...dont give up hope...just look EVERYWHERE in the one room he escaped into. And once you turn everything upside down in that room....start looking elsewhere.
P.S.....DONT WORRY about food and water....all snakes can go a looong time without either...AT LEAST a month.
My snake escaped twice...and the first time...I found him INSIDE the dresser drawer in the room where he escaped. Look EVERYWHERE...leave no stone unturned. I panicked the first time mine escaped...I thought he found his way into the heating register.
 
Thanks guy for the re-assuring but my next step ( and drastic as it may seem) is the bottom floor cieling is comming down to check if he's there. ( my house is over 200yrs old and on four floors) if i have to re-build my house i will find him ( unless i hear neighbours screaming first) then i know he's next door. i will find him i'm sure
