Grouchy! (In Blue?)

It was bound to happen eventually. Ledger finally struck at me tonight. He's so tiny that of course it didn't hurt but it did surprise me. I was like, "Ohmigod! No you didn't!" and then I laughed.

I think he's going in blue - his colors are muted (amel), he's withdrawn and anti-social. If that is the case then it will be his first shed since we brought him home.

I have read a lot of about humid hides but I'm not really sure about what to do. He's holed up in one specific hide at the moment. Should I try to make that one humid or offer another one? The hygrometer in his viv reads about 60% - is that enough?

He's due to be fed tomorrow. I was wondering if I should try or withhold? In the month or so that he's been home we've never had any feeding issues.

Thanks!

Seems like he has the symptoms of shedding. So he probably is going to shed.
A super simple way to make a humid hide, is to get a deli cup (with lid) cut a hole in the lid (might want to kind of melt the sides of where you cut so the snake wont cut itslelf while going in) Poke a few holes in the cup. Put moist paper towels in there and just place it near the warm side of the viv. Note that not all snakes will go in the humid hide. Dont be scared if the snake doesnt go inside. I think the humidity is right (I Might be wrong) And you can mist the cage often to get the humidtity flowing.
You wont know if your snake eats durring shed unless you try. Some snakes eat durring shed, and some snakes dont. Try feeding your snake tomorow. If he doesnt eat, dont try to feed him again untill he sheds. If he does eat. Well now you know he eats when in shed. (For example, my snake does not eat durring shed. So I wait 'till next feeding day to feed him)

Just a few tips for the shedding:
I dont know if you know about all the stages of shedding. But first the snake goes in blue (colors are super dull) then the snake clears out. (many people think the snake has already shed because their snake is not in blue anymore.) It will take the snake 2 or 3 more days untill it actually sheds.

I dont know if I missed some information or gave you some wrong information. But I think this is right. Hope this helped and its not too confusing :D

Thank you for your help!

I saw a video not too long about that someone (I think it may have been you) posted showing their snake shed, which was really neat.

These 'firsts' are so nerve wracking for me. I can't wait til I 'know' Ledger's habits and preferences a little better.

Your welcom!
Yeah, that was me. Thanks for looking :)
As you spend more time with your snake, you two will learn to know eachother more and more. Its great having a small companion!
