Growing Sucks!

My baby Eevah -apparently- is growing ... and in shedding"hibernation" since nearly two full weeks.
After a bigger meal of 2 small pinkies she hid in her humid hide and hasn't been out since. I check on her about every 2 days to make sure she's still squirming around, but leave her alone other than that.
I'm not even sure she's coming out to drink! I handfed her some droplets of water the other day because I was worried - and she drank off my fingertip: too cute.
She seems to be alert and doesn't have a change of behavior other than her being more jumpy - so I'm not too worried she's sick. It's her first shed at her new home though, and it sure is weird not seeing her cruise around in her tank. It feels like we have an empty tank just sitting around in the living room ... blah, this sucks.
I check every morning if she made me the honor of shedding her skin finally, but nothing yet. Should be soon though, right?! Two weeks? I hope she doesn't grow fast and I get to see her a little bit before her next shed ... :awcrap:

Oh, and PS: I haven't changed the moss in her humid hide since she went in it. I'm spraying it when I notice it getting too dry at the entrance of the hide, but that's about it.
Should I change the moss during a shed or just leave it be until she's done shedding? /shrug

I have yet to see some of my snakes drink water, but obviously they do otherwise the wouldn't be a live. Yours could be coming out at night and drinking water then. Rate of growth varies just like it does with people. It took my hatchlings 3+ weeks to shed a second time after their first shed and they get fed once a week. But are you saying that yours went in and out of blue but hasn't shed yet and it's been two weeks since it cleared up?

The moss should be fine as long as it isn't growing any mold in it.

3+ weeks ?! HOLY CANOLI! I hope it doesn't take Eevah as long as your hatchling. I'd hate to spend another full week without our daily handling sessions /sniff.

Well she might be coming out at night to drink. She might also just suck the water out of the moss lol!
I don't think she's going in and out of blue. I think she's just a little pansy and went into Blue-mood at the first itch of "growing pain". So it seems like she's hiding extraordinary long because she went into hiding so early in the shedding stage.

I think I'll give her till friday. If she hasn't shed by then I might change her moss, just to be on the safe side.

I feel your pain. It always seems to take forever for my juvies to shed, but it's really only a week to ten days. Just last night I rechecked Firefly's records because it felt like she has been in shed FOREVER. But it's only been a week.

She's a shy little girl and often all we see of her is her little orange nose sticking out. It's amazing how much you can miss a little orange nose when it's not there. :D

WOOT WOOT!

10 days later we've got a shedded skin! She must have changed clothes as I was out picking up my kiddos soccer items =D YAY for my girlpants!
Here's a picture, I'm such a proud mommy ;)
