growth rate

Hey all sorry it's been awhile since i've been on here , but i've got a few questions.
1st- How long does the AVG. corn live with out breeding or any other stressors
2nd- What is the growth rate of an avg. corn when fed a regular diet, no superfeeding just a few mice a week ?

There really aren't any averages....
And I don't think anyone has done a study massive enough to show the differances between corns who have been bred VS. corns who haven't. Normally though people say the life span is anywhere from 10 years even up to 30 in the best case.

As for growth....another thing that has no average...normally hatchlings double in size their first year...some triple, some don't even double. My anery female barely doubled in her first year, but my male snow grew over TRIPLE his hatchling size in his first year

For your information, I tracked the growth rate for 12 different hatchlings I acquired from four different breeders, starting in August 2002 until now. Each was normally fed or at least offered one prey item every four days, and the size of the prey was slightly larger than the snake diameter at the largest point. Results:

3 snakes 0.75 inch per month
2 snakes 1.0 inch per month
3 snakes 1.25 inches per month
2 snakes 1.5 inches per month
2 snakes 2.0 inches per month

This obviously doesn't represent every case, but it at least gives you an indication of the differences between animals.
