So today was day 1 of the new school year and I was about 25 feet away from not making it at all.
Was driving up I-95 (major North-South hwy for those of you from Cali and Britain) and was about 100 feet from my exit. As I move into the right lane from the middle, in preperation to exit, this silver sports car goes blasting by me from the middle to the far left lane. Next thing I know, I see the sports car start into a fishtail and then a dead spin. He spins once.... twice... like it's in slow motion.
I didn't even realize I was slamming on my brakes as I watched this guy spin until I was stopped 25 feet away from where his front end smacked into the wall. Had I been 25 or 50 feet ahead, he would have hit me broadside!
I just sat there blinking for about 5 minutes, watching this guy pounding on his steering wheel, thankful that he didn't hit me and that he's okay. To make the story better, the guy gets out (it was dark so I couldn't see much of him in the car) and guess what?? Yep, one of Maryland's finest, in his blue uniform. Classic.
Other than that the first day back was great.
