Crazy Tarantula Lady
I seperated this gal from the colony today as she is showing signs of labor. Anyone wanna guess how many she has in there? I'm guessing at least 10.
I can't wait to see what she has. I bought her preggers about a week ago, its possible she will have some satins:)

I say 13...I don't know why..lol..just a lucky guess.. :shrugs:

I'd say 9-10...
How many are in the colony? It's ok to keep them all together, as the females will take take care of all the babies...
Good luck with the pinks!!

I have 1.5 in a 20 gallon long. I seperated her because I have one female who has been biting the others and I didn't want to risk the pinks getting eaten. I was thinking about putting another female with her, she has a buddy that gets on well with her:)

When you separate her , I think it is best to put the male with her . In the first 4 hours after giving birth she's most fertile to get pregnant again .
Let us know how much pinkies were in her belly .

final count is 10. They are nice sized pinks and she is a good mommy.

I got my mice from 2 different sources, the one source are terribly inbred, the females aren't producing, and the male is overly aggressive. I'm planning on buying a couple more already pregnant females from the second source, I'll finally have a healthy, productive colony:)

If you have non producing females , don't hold them . It takes cleaningtime , food , frustration => replace them by better ones .
