Habistat Pulse, also how to secure the probe?

I'm considering buying the Habistat Pulse day/night Thermostat. It can be used with heaters up to 600watts, however I'll be using it with a 20watt heatmat. (The viv is 15" by 36", the heatmat is 11" by 17"). My question is will it work alright with such a low powered mat?

Also, what type of tape do people use to secure the probe to the viv floor? I currently use masking tape, but it's not very strong and comes off easily, but I'm worried that anything stronger will be a problem if the snake gets caught on it.

I use a different thermostat - but it has the same warning. I use it with a the same size UTH and have never had a problem.

I usually secure the probe to the bottom of the cage in a blob of Elmer's glue. It sticks well, but comes off nicely when I need to remove the probe.

A really good wad of blu tack, or some aqua sealant should do the job nicely for you and again they are easily removed if neccessary. If you use the aqua sealant, don't forget to let it dry and air out thoroughly, before putting your snake in the tank :)

Hope that helps,
