Had such a big scare!

Well yesterday my dad commented the cage was open ever so slightly, so he closed it and i thought nothing of it. Anyway I just went to feed him and he wasn't there! I was in panic mode but luckily the cats had given my snake's place away as i remember this morning they had been poking under this book shelf thing, i looked under there with a torch and breathed a sigh of relief when i saw him curled up in the corner. He was absolutely freezing though and hasn't eaten his mouse yet which is unusual, oh well when he warms up he'll be ok. I was so shocked at how tiny the space was that he squeezed out of, i know they're escape artists but it was litterally about half a cm across and my corn's not exactly all that small any more! Oh well luckily i found him, but i didn't half tell him off!

Nice One! I'm glad you found him so quickly!

They really can squeeze out of *any* gap at all....i read on another thread somewhere that someone caught their snake squeezing between the glass on sliding doors... and thats a TINY gap.

Anyway, I'm sure he'll soon be back to normal after warming up and getting over the scariness of cats!

It's crazy how easily they'll get out, huh? I'm glad you found him! Hoax him as much as possible to stay on the warm side of the tank. My biggest, who really isnt that big, for some odd reason, prefers the cold side of the tank. The temps are all right, he just prefered the hide on the cold side... so I had to switch the hides, so his favorite was on the warm side. Crazy little guy.

my corn has his hide on the warm side, but I always find him under his water dish on the cold side! The only time he goes into the hide on the warm side is after he's eaten! silly guy!

Hehe he's better now any way. I left his mouse with him and when i came back he'd eaten it. The cat's taken a worrying fondness of sitting by the cage and watching out for him no though! I'll have to be more careful. I think i found the culprit of the slightly opened cage though, i was sure i'd closed it properly last time i used it, but then i remember it was my best friend who'd last opened it, and let's just say when it comes to closing things properly she's a bit away with the faries, she let this gals horse out before because she forgot to close the gate lol. Oh well no harm no foul. I certainly will look out next time she gets him out herself again!
