Hand feeding?

This topic didn't fall under any of the treads so i think i'm posting it in the correct location. I don't do this, but i was jw what you guys thought. I see a lot of videos and pictures of people feeding their corns in their hand. They let the snake eat out of their fingers, and i was jw if their are any pros and cons to this. I just assumed it was a bad thing because your scent was going to get on the mouse, but i'm seeing a lot of pics of this. I'm sure you guys know exactly what i'm talking about, but if its not clear i'll find a picture for you all. Thanks in advance.

The concern is not getting your scent on the mouse but the mouse scent on you. The problem with this is the snakes comes to associate you hand with food. This may tempt the snake to taste your hand from time to time. Try holding the mouse by the tail with a large pair of forceps. That way the mouse doesn’t come from your hand.

I did that with some hatchlings when they were younger, just for the fun of it, I guess. After a while, they decide they want more privacy to eat.

I feed my guys with tongs. The one time I did feed holding the mouse in my fingers my guy Samson didn't seem so interested. So I figure the tongs help with both my hands not getting bitten and them feeding quicker.
