Handle or not to handle????

I am quite new to snakes I have had my four 02 babies for just a couple of months, I would like to know if it is OK to handle them after their eyes have gone from blue (during the shedding routine) back to the normal colour before they shed or is it best to wait till they have shed, I am asking because it is at least a week between milky eyes and after the shed, it seems a long time to not handle the babies as they are sometimes a nightmare to hold anyway being nervous and very fast. Thanks..
